Swim: 2.4 miles

The two-loop rectangle swim course at Ford Ironman Coeur d'Alene has the potential to be tough. It's become the norm to hear that the water is cold. Athletes can expect water somewhere between 63 and 64 degrees Fahrenheit (a little over 17 degrees Celsius). Don't worry 3 hot tubs can be found right next to the transition tents for athletes to warm up at. The swim course starts on the sandy shore of city park. Athletes will exit the water and run around a marker on the beach before re-entering the lake for the second loop.

  • average water temperature on race day is 63-64F
  • water type: freah lake
  • start: mass beach start

Transition

Both T1 and T2 are located in the same location in the park. Less then 30 feet from the water start. Racks are assigned to your bib number and age group. As a convenience the local hot tub company provides 3 hot tubes just out outside of the transition tents for athletes to quickly warm up at T1.
