The San Francisico Triathlon at Treasure Island is the last bay area triathlon of the season. As with all TRI California events many top pros have raced the course and since the event offers scenic views (Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, San Francisco Skyline) it makes for a great venue . The San Francisco Triathlon is also very spectator friendly because the loop course in all three events.The San Francisco Triathlon is offered in two distances: Olympic on Saturday and a Sprint on Sunday. This race profile covers the Olympic distance but the routes are the same for both but the amount of laps are different. Sprint Course: Swim: 500m 1 lap, Bike 20k | 12.4 miles 3 laps, Run 5k | 3.1 miles 2 laps. The Bike course lap is slightly shorter cutting out the hill. The run course lap is also slightly shorter.
