St. Anthony’s Triathlon, as the first major race on the U.S. calendar, has kicked off the triathlon season in North America for the past 25 years. Race against the world’s top professional triathletes as they compete for a $60,000 prize purse. Over the years, St.Anthony’s Triathlon has been an Ironman Triathlon World Championship qualifier, named “Race of the Year” by USA Triathlon, and will again serve as a USAT Grand Prix Event. Athletes from 48 states and 17 countries participated in the 2008 event. There will be a huge two-day sports and fitness expo and festive waterfront awards party. No race-day registration or packet pick up. Entry is limited to 4,000 individuals and 125 relay teams.

St. Anthony's Triathlon Swim Course: 1.5k
The swim starts at Spa Beach, approximately 3/4 mile south of the transition area. With 32 separate swim wave starts, race officials do their best to safely spread out the nearly 4,000 participants, which includes more than 100 relay teams.

The 6.2-mile run course to Snell Isle and back is one of the most scenic you'll find anywhere. Along the way, you'll pass waterfront parks and multi-million dollar homes. Some of the residents will offer a spray of water from their own garden hose and there's even a bit if shade on Snell Isle, where the turnaround point is located..
