    BIO

    Mirinda Carfrae (aka Rinny) is a triathlete from Brisbane, Australia. Her sports hero is Michael Jordon. Mirinda started in sports at an early age, trying out basketball and other school sports. In 1991, she began the triathlon. Even though she did not have a background in swimming, running, or biking, she experienced success in 2001 when she made the Australian Junior Elite Team and competed in the Triathlon World Championships. Mirinda has represented Australia at the TWC in 2002, '03, and '04, earning two silver medals. Mirinda Carfrae finished a great 2007 season with the Ironman 70.3 World Championship title in Clearwater, Florida. Mirinda is coached by Siri Lindley.
